Chouteau Candle Company (pronounced “Show-Tow” in Saint Louis)
est. 2020
The Chouteau Candle Company is proudly named after the founder of the City of Saint Louis, René Auguste Chouteau. Our mission is to design fine home fragrances that recall your favorite memories, create a warm, relaxing environment, and envelop your home in luxurious aromatics. All of our candles are hand poured in small batches, creating vegan, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free products that will make you feel as good as they smell.
We also believe in causes that help our beloved city thrive, and that is why we partner with local non-profit organizations like Pet Rescue Network, the Very Asian Foundation, and the St. Louis Area Foodbank. We are dedicated to supporting local, and we’re so glad you are too.
Meet the founder.
Hi! My name is Audrey, and I’m so happy you’re here! I live in Saint Louis City with my husband, daughter, and two rescue cats, Casper and Jack. I am a Filipina-American, aspiring candle magnate, amateur chef, rom-com aficionado, lawyer, and Cardinals fan by marriage.
Scent is highly personal, and so is the Chouteau Candle Company. I started this company in my kitchen during the pandemic with one pouring pitcher and an idea that would later become the Casper Candle. While operations have outgrown the kitchen, each Chouteau Candle Company candle is still made by hand in Saint Louis.
The best part of running a small business in Saint Louis is the incredible community of makers, fellow small business owners, and customers that come together to lift each other up. Whether you’re new to the Chouteau Candle Co. or an OG, we look forward to filling your spaces with a new favorite scent where you can bring your community together.
